Lead Software Architect
A young, funded, and profitable Internet startup is looking for dynamic, self-motivated and innovative technologist who will lead the continual improvement and development of next generation platform in an exciting marketplace. FreeCause.com, founded in mid-2006 by a group of MIT alumni, develops unique, free applications to unlock the value of affinity relationships, spanning non-profits, political campaigns and national sports teams.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CTO, this person will be responsible for leading, architecting, and developing one of our two flagship products. We're a fast moving company, thus we want someone that has self-initiative to continue to improve the product based on user behaviors. You'll be leading and working with a team of 2-3 other extremely talented individuals. This is a technical lead position, thus will spend 20% of the time architect, designing, coordinating with the team and 80% of the time coding.
Requirements
Must haves
- Senior to expert programming skill level for one of the following languages: PHP, PERL or Python
- Leadership experience in working with teams of 3 or greater.
- Developed web applications that have 10,000+ users (we're dealing with millions...)
- Knowledgeable with numerous web technologies and their trade-offs
- Sense of humor, Is intelligent, self starter
Nice to haves
- Expertise in popular open source frameworks for PHP, PERL and/or Python
- System Administrative Skills for Linux, Windows
- Good send of UI design, experience with Javascript, CSS, HTML
- Previous start up experiences
- Personal interests contributing to causes.
